From the plaque:
Created to mark Ottawa's 200th anniversary, Jimmy Baptiste's murals offer a bold and contemporary vision of the city that celebrates both its history and its future. These vibrant, graffiti-inspired works explore themes of community, belonging, diversity, and connection, inviting viewers to reflect on the many stories that shape Ottawa and the shared possibilities of the next 200 years.
Jimmy Baptiste is a multidisciplinary visual designer specializing in murals, environmental graphics, and large-scale visual storytelling for brands, institutions, and public spaces. He transforms blank walls into bold visual experiences that connect with people and reflect the character of their surroundings.
With more than two decades of experience, Baptiste has worked across public art, branding, illustration, and spatial design for universities, cultural institutions, sports venues, and commercial clients.
Rooted in graffit and contemporary visual culture, his distinctive visual language is paired with a deep commitment to design excellence. Each project is carefully crafted to help places express identity, foster connection, and create lasting impressions for the communities they serve.
