A community-driven digital archive for the street art of Ottawa and Gatineau. Learn more about our mission below.
OTTAWALLS started in 2025 as a personal mission on two wheels. While biking through Ottawa, I began collecting photos and coordinates of the murals I passed. What started as a simple hobby quickly transformed into a realization: Ottawa and Gatineau's urban art lacked a permanent, public record.
Today, we are a volunteer-run, non-commercial and community initiative dedicated to documenting every mural in Ottawa and Gatineau. This is a free, open-access resource designed to give local artists the credit they deserve and to help everyone discover the gallery hidden in our city streets.
To document and celebrate our city's street art before it fades, ensuring artists receive proper credit and turning temporary works into a valuable resource to help the city support more public art.
To be the go-to authority on street art in Ottawa, facilitating collaboration between artists and the community to make Ottawa a city that actively celebrates its urban creators.
OTTAWALLS is built by the community. Here's how you can help:
Access the raw map data, help identify "Unknown Artists," and get notified of new walls before the paint is dry.
