Created by artist Dominic Laporte, this mural marks the completion of the Hull Island Greening Project. Between 2020 and 2023, CREDDO, the City of Gatineau, local partners, and dozens of volunteers joined forces to plant nearly 1,000 trees across the neighbourhood. Beyond cooling urban heat pockets, these trees boost biodiversity, clean the air, and turn everyday streets into healthier, vibrant public spaces.
Above all, this artwork pays tribute to the community spirit that made the effort possible. By coming together to transform our shared environment, we are planting lasting roots of hope for Gatineau’s future. This project was made possible with financial support from the Government of Quebec as part of the 2030 Green Economy Plan.
