John A. Macdonald

This mural, depicting Sir John A. Macdonald at the former site of his residence, was created through a partnership between students from École Secondaire Publique De La Salle and the Prime Ministers' Row initiative. In archiving this image, we acknowledge that while Macdonald is recognized as Canada’s first prime minister, his legacy includes an instrumental role in policies that led to the Residential School System and ongoing colonialism. We further note that this site stands on the unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg people.
