2024Centretown

Unveiled in September 2024, this horizontal site-specific mural transformed a brutalist concrete retaining wall into a vibrant public art piece. The project was led by the Centretown Community Health Centre and funded via a City of Ottawa grant.

The design process involved direct consultations with the building’s 181 residents. To execute the work, Martelock collaborated on-site with 11 youth from Operation Come Home and residents from the Youth Services Bureau’s Young Men’s Shelter, blending professional public art practice with grassroots youth mentorship.
